Keep scrolling down for an updated list of our favorite robot vacuums.

You can compare Neato robot vacuums’ features and specifications with other robot vacuums at the Vacuum Wars website:

Recently we put the Roomba 980 and the Neato D7 to several tests, which you can see on our channel, but one of the interesting things that came out of it was how great the Neato Botvac Connected Series was on hard floors.

Don’t get me wrong it did great on carpet too, but picking up debris from hard floors can be challenging for robot vacuums and the Neato was much better than the Roomba 980 which is the best Roomba model available at the present time, and based on the other robots we have tested the Neato Botvac Connected Series is the best robot vacuum for hard floors, but why is that?

I did some of these slow motion shots, and called Neato to see if I could determine why it was so good and if the great hard floor pickup power was the same for the rest of the Botvac connected series.

Part of the reason it is so good with hard floors is because of its super high airflow, during our airflow tests we found that the Neato Botvac Connected D7 had 13.6% more airflow than the Roomba 980 on high power and 36% more on low power. And keep in mind that the Roomba 980 is the most power of any Roomba to date, so the Neato has a ton of airflow.

So that extra power certainly plays a role, but the design is pretty clever too. it has a large front mounted brush roll, and the D7 comes with the Spiral combo brush, but you can by that particular brushroll for any Neato Botvac Connected, but I think the little strip on the bottom which acts as a kind of barrier really makes a difference too, as it sort of traps the smaller debris and then the suction takes it from there.

So when I called Neato they confirmed that the motor size and basic construction of the Neato D7 is the same with the D3, D5, and Botvac Connected. The differences are discussed in another video we did which I will link on the screen later but basically its things like battery life, filters, and software.

That being said you should see the Review we did on the D7 which I will also link because the no go lines feature is probably one of the most useful features I have ever seen on a Robot vacuum and does make the D7 worth the extra cost in our opinion.
