  1. Thank you for your videos. One topic that is frustrating for me personally is as follows: "They have the guns, but we have the numbers" – so the song goes, But do we really have the numbers if most of them are 100% mainstream TV Koolaid junkies? Sadly, I am having to consider walking away from long term friendships with way mainstream, TV addicted conservative, former military solid citizen friends who refuse to believe there is anything going on here except an aggressive flu virus. Is there a way ro get through to them?

  2. We love books, both my beautiful bride and I are avid readers and Maria is a researcher and professional academic writer so she is constantly learning new things and new skills. Sadly, modern paper does not do well in our super humid Philippine climate. One extra step we have done is to gather a good number of survival related manuals, PDFs and books in electronic form. All of this information was loaded onto both CDs and high quality memory sticks. The CDs and memory sticks were then placed in multi-layer protection (moisture proof and EMP resistant containers) along with a means to read the material. With proper adaptors, even an old cellphone can be used to open and reference the information in an emergency. If you have a small solar charger in your kit to charge your reading devise, you can have an entire survival reference library anyplace you hunker down. If you search, you can find a wide variety of military manuals, many specific to particular regions of the world. There are emergency medical manuals, books on the plants and animals you may encounter in your operating area and so much more. All of our mini-warriors have a set in their school emergency 72 hour bags. We also placed sets in other locations we may use, Mother In Law's home across town and we have a set for study/reviewng with our troops open at home.

  3. By the way, for those not acquainted with MDโ€™s books, I own all three of his plus the cookbook he edited. It is packed away right now so I cannot give exact title. The cookbook is designed to cook with foods put back; canned, dehydrated, freeze dried, etc. MD, help me with title. I know of no other cookbook written in this manner.

  4. Don't quit. It's harvest time – so busy gardenibg, canning, freeze drying, home repairs etc. Soon time to hunker down and watch YouTube.

  5. Have some. Will check out defense books. Have extensive hard copy library. Answer to question; I am prepping more so now. Concentrating on food right now.

  6. Donโ€™t quit. I have all your books on my Kindle. I started with Dirt Cheap Survival Retreat and went on to get all of them. I started pretty much just like you did. Keep prepping and keep talking to us. Thanks for all you do.

  7. I could easily add 10-15 more books that I would consider must have items, but my criteria is the same as yours, they have to either have very unique and effective methods, techniques and practical (correct) information or in addition to these factors, they should be complete books on the subject covering all the topics of other less "filling" book.
That being said, I think that two or even three books on a specific subject is usually enough without being overly redundant if they are all good, well written, well illustrated books. Those "Where there is no doctor" books are a series, so for those we'd have to make an exception.
And if the world goes to crap, meaning no or little power, no mass production, no modern conveniences, all these people who are too lazy and smart ass to use good grammar, proper spelling, speak poorly and refuse to read anything unless it's digital material on a screen, are going to be sorry when they can't read and understand printed or even hand written information. A decline in literacy is loss of a useful skill.

  8. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ A home library will be invaluable in a grid down situation. Keep'em coming MD!!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ˜ŽโœโœŒ๏ธโ˜ฎ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

  9. Your right about the books having the same information. I only buy a few books mostly older books . The newer info I research and print out what I can and put in my binder collection. Then I'm not storing crap.
